We constructed a 10-story office building with shell space, a three-level tenant build out, and an adjoining seven level, 1,900-vehicle parking garage at the north end of the George R. Brown Convention Center. The project featured two sky bridge connections, one from the office building/garage to the convention center and one to a new luxury hotel being constructed across Avenida de Las Americas. We also renovated the convention center's façade and constructed an outdoor plaza.
A METRO rail line running through the parking garage project site, and the convention center’s busy event schedule, kept our team challenged throughout construction. We worked evening shifts to have the least impact on daily activities of the convention center or the rail line. Every night after the METRO rail line shut down, we erected the pre-cast and exterior skin above it, ensuring we left the site clean and safe for pedestrians the next day.
