We Want to Make a Difference.

The Vaughn Construction Community Foundation directly supports the lives of people in the communities served by Vaughn Construction. We provide grants to non-profit organizations that focus on the healthcare, research and educational needs of current and future generations. Grants are intended to allow charitable organizations to make a significant impact in their respective communities.

Request a grant.

You may submit grant requests to the Vaughn Construction Community Foundation at any time. Requests are reviewed and considered on January 10, May 10, and September 10 each year. Grants are awarded only to not-for-profit organizations. While all requests are considered, priority is given to healthcare, research, and educational organizations serving the communities in which our employees live and work.

Community Activities

In addition to the industry support we provide through our foundation, participation in the Associated General Contractors of America, Construction Career Collaborative, and other construction-industry related organizations, we encourage our employees to volunteer their time and talents to activities and events which support the non-profit endeavors and missions of our clients. Some of our recent activities follow...

Houston

A group of 27 volunteers in Houston teamed with Philo Wilke Architects for the 2019 Canstruction food drive. Our cansculpture entry, “Whata-Canstruction: Taking A Texas Size Bite Out of Hunger,” consisting of a burger, fries, and a drink, was based on one of Texas’ favorite fast-food restaurants. This massive meal spanned 10 feet wide and 7 feet tall. It took 1,057 cans sloppy joe sauce, 988 cans of peas, 674 cans of green beans, 500 cans of corn, 461 cans of collard greens, 454 cans of black beans, 390 cans of tomato paste, 129 cans of diced tomatoes, and 120 taco seasoning mix packets to build this structure. As a result of their efforts, the Houston Food Bank received over 5,000 cans of food totaling $4,000.

A group of Vaughn volunteers built a teaching garden for Urban Harvest, a Houston nonprofit organization whose mission is to cultivate thriving communities through gardening and access to healthy, local food. The volunteers installed a new rain tank, trellises, planters, and new solar panels to create a gardening site that is self-sufficient, requiring no city utilities to operate. In three months, they transformed the bleak area into a thriving, picturesque food source and gardening education center.
