Alamo Colleges hired Vaughn to construct a new five-level, precast parking garage on its San Antonio campus. The 945-space, shared-use garage serves San Antonio College and the Tobin Hill neighborhood as part of a mixed-use development. The exterior skin of the garage is a combination of precast, steel mesh, and face brick. The new garage is gated for secure access and features two elevators at the northwest corner, one elevator at the southeast corner, and three stair towers.
We built the garage alongside another contractor who built the mixed-use portion of the project. The garage is bordered on two sides by the Tobin Hill lofts which remained occupied throughout construction. The project required extensive coordination of vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
