The parking facility connects to two medical office buildings on the third floor via skybridges, providing easier access for staff to maneuver around the hospital campus. Our parking consultant implemented technological efficiencies that included a single telecom room with hybrid copper fiber to each data device to extend distances, centralized low voltage power that allowed a central UPS to remotely serve power needs, and a plug and play system for security, data, and VoIP.
The precast erector wanted to build the entire structure before allowing build-out to occur. But, because precast structures are built by bay, not by floor, we decided to sequence construction so other trades could start working on the build-out while the precast was still being erected. We built each bay of the garage, from Level 1 to Level 7 separately and released completed areas for build out as we went, ultimately saving weeks on the project schedule.
