We built-out a new career and leadership center in a portion of the existing University Center. We infilled a courtyard between three existing walls to add a new 5,162 SF grand building entrance and reception lobby featuring an elliptical radius entrance canopy and a radius curtain wall system. The interior renovation also added reception waiting rooms, meeting and interview rooms, training rooms, a large student leadership room, executive and counseling offices, and break rooms.
The radiused lower roof connected two existing buildings at different elevations. We utilized laser guided joint measurements and coordinated extensively with the design team and the concrete, glazing, framing, roofing and metal panel contractors, to cross check dimensions of horizontal and vertical metal panels and glazing mullions. Our approach ensured the roof aligned properly with the curtain walls of both buildings and presented the desired result.
