Architect: HOK Architects
Location: Houston, TX
Delivery: Traditional
Status: Completed
This project converted existing office spaces and conference rooms into three outpatient clinics and a new business center. The build-out included exam rooms, clinical work rooms, waiting rooms, conference rooms, and a staff lounge. The project was adjacent to a large auditorium where speakers discuss cancer-related topics each week in front of hundreds of people. We carefully planned and coordinated any work near this side of the project to minimize impact to these events.
The project footprint was initially sequenced over five areas with staggered start and completion milestones for each area. In month 10 of the 14-month project, MD Anderson asked us to deliver the project in four completion milestones instead of five. Our project team modified the critical path schedule, communicated and coordinated it with trade contractors, and added manpower to successfully deliver all areas of the project to the Owner with impact to the schedule.
