The College of Pharmacy overlooks a wooded lake through its glass façade lobby and reception area. The first floor includes a coffee bar and three open concept classrooms. The second floor offers mid-sized pods for team activities. On the third floor, students simulate dispensing medication in a mock retail pharmacy, mixing chemicals in the compounding lab, or conducting research in the laboratories. Approximately 35 faculty offices and multiple study nooks are provided throughout the facility.
As the project began waterproofing and dry-in operations, continuous adverse weather conditions delayed not only our project but caused regional labor shortages on all construction projects. We procured a waterproofing product with an additive in the membrane which allowed the product to be installed in much colder temperatures, providing us with precious installation time to help dry-in the building and ultimately achieve the originally planned occupancy date.
