Four Vaughn projects received awards at the Associated General Contractors (AGC) Houston Chapter’s Awards for Project Excellence (APEX). The award honors construction firms for their dedication to excellence, skill, and integrity, and recognizes the valuable contributions these projects bring to the community.
Texas A&M University, Zachry Engineering Education Complex: Gold Award for Higher Education. The project included the renovation of the existing building, a vertical expansion, and two five-story building additions that resulted in a 565,000 SF, $171 million, state-of-the-art Engineering Complex.
Memorial Hermann Texas Medical Center, Sarofim Pavilion and Parking Infrastructure Building: Silver Award for Healthcare. The expansion added a $460 million, 17-story pavilion that tied into five existing hospital buildings, doubled the emergency department, added 186 new patient and 16 ICU rooms, along with 20 burn units and 24 new operating rooms.
Texas A&M University, Global Health Research Complex: Silver Award for Laboratory. The complex is a $74 million, 113,000 SF facility that includes laboratories focusing on large animal studies, two large animal necropsy areas, a large animal surgical suite, lab spaces, areas for training, along with offices and conference rooms.
University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, Health Education Center: Bronze Award for Higher Education. The project included a new 161,000 SF, $70 million, multi-story medical education center equipped with an ambulance bay, multiple simulation spaces, and learning studios.
