This facility provides oral healthcare education, training, patient care, and scientific research in a modern and technologically advanced setting. Levels One and Two house specialty clinics with state-of-the-art laboratories, a large seminar room, and a cafe that opens to a large courtyard. Levels Three and Four house general practice student clinics. With a total of 400 operatories, the facility can serve over 1,200 patients each day. The project included a 500-car precast parking garage and surface parking.
Each operatory and surgical center served a specialized discipline with different utility needs. Our team utilized a BIM model to control the precision of the utility service locations. We provided conflicts and variances to the design team for redesign as required. We built mock-ups for users to see how the equipment interfaced with each space prior to installation. All 400 dental chair and console locations, the surgical units, and the central sterilization units were installed with minimal issues.
