This six-story Medical Office Building (MOB) 2 complements the existing Medical Office Building 1. In this phase, we finished-out the public spaces including lobbies, public corridors, and restrooms, leaving the remainder of the building as shell space for future tenant finish-out. The exterior features a drive-under, drop-off canopy with a large gable skylight located between the two MOBs. An enclosed pedestrian skybridge of aluminum and glazed curtainwall connects both MOBs at the third floor.
To coordinate the skybridge construction, we ensured the MOB2 structure was properly aligned with MOB1. Then, we removed the existing face brick and curtain wall from MOB1 and installed temporary waterproofing to protect the facility until tie-in was complete. To minimize disruption of traffic on the main access road between the two facilities, we installed the bridge structure over one weekend. We shut down one lane at a time, managing barricades and directing traffic until the construction was complete.
