The new campus includes a 480,000 SF hospital, a six-level, 161,000 SF shelled medical office building, and a new central plant. The full-service hospital has 34 emergency exam rooms, 16 ICU rooms, 96 medical/surgical patient rooms, 10 operating rooms (one hybrid and two robotic for heart and transplant procedures), a catheterization lab, and a 46,000 SF birthing center with 12 LDRP rooms, four LDR rooms, eight antepartum/postpartum rooms, seven NICU rooms, three C-section rooms, and a nursery.
The site was located at the intersection of two major thoroughfares, a busy city road, and a federal highway. This high-traffic intersection was under construction during our site development, and posed a significant safety risk. A creek running through the site further complicated the excavation. We hired a company to build a temporary bridge over the creek to keep haul trucks off the busy roadways and contain the site, ensuring public safety.
