Client: Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital
Architect: Page
Location: The Woodlands, TX
Delivery: Traditional
Status: Completed
This medical office building included core and shell space with elevator lobbies, restrooms, stairwells, and mechanical rooms. We strategically installed the building mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, fire alarm, and telecommunications infrastructure with Houston Methodist’s expansion in mind, ensuring ease of transition for future build-outs. The project also included a skybridge, which connected the building to the adjacent parking garage, also built by Vaughn.
The Owner voiced concern about the safety hazards of construction traffic for the garage project sharing the main drive with hospital personnel and patient traffic. To address this concern, we confined deliveries and traffic for both projects to one construction road. We also expedited MOB2 work and dismantled the tower crane one month early, to allow more room for the garage team while maintaining a safe zone for the hospital staff and patients.
