Our work included relocating all basement-level MEP equipment above the flood plain, installing water-resistant materials, and constructing a 500-year flood-proof barrier around the building perimeter. The client requested upgrades to improve building functionalities and repair damage from Hurricane Harvey. We also constructed additional elevator towers to increase the vertical transportation capacity in the building.
Over 7,500 people occupy the building every day with trials held on multiple floors. We expanded the building and conducted extensive restorations while maintaining facility operations. We minimized operational impacts to the courtrooms by implementing a phasing strategy and working after-hours and weekends as needed to prevent interference.
