We renovated six different departments within the hospital including PBX, scheduling, wound care, outpatient procedure, microbiology, and administrative offices. Our work included demolition; installation of new walls, flooring, windows, and finishes; relocation of existing fire alarm panels and PBX infrastructure; and modifications to existing plumbing, HVAC, and fire suppression systems to coincide with these altered layouts and space functions. We completed each of these renovations while all surrounding areas remained fully operational.
Sustaining the operational hospital while renovating multiple departments concurrently required precise coordination. We reviewed operational requirements for each department to determine construction phasing , sequencing, and infection control measures. We updated the schedule monthly, reviewed upcoming construction activities weekly with the Owner and design team, and coordinated MEP tie-ins with end users weeks in advance. We sequenced the work to maximize trade contractor efficiencies and completed intrusive work after hours to minimize impact to the hospital.
