The new Patient Tower and Parking Garage at Children’s Health features specialty care programs, including cardiology, oncology, orthopedics, gastroenterology, and neurology. Our scope of work included expanded ancillary services such as a new pharmacy, renovated laboratory, and expanded and upgraded imaging department to serve an additional 188 beds. The project also included renovations and enhancements to the campus, including a 1,890 LF connector bridge, a 245,000 SF garage, and 65,000 SF renovations in the existing hospital. We provided a new, expanded emergency department and increased the operating room and recovery areas. We also installed a rooftop helipad with landing and parking zones.
Concurrent with the new tower expansion was a series of renovations within the operational hospital, with the majority needing to complete before patient occupancy. We renovated and expanded the imaging department, executed multi-phased upgrades to the Laboratory and Sterile Processing Department, and enlarged the surgical suite. We also upgraded the existing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to handle the tower’s increased demand without disrupting operations. This required numerous system shutdowns, off-hours work, and close coordination with hospital leadership, ensuring uninterrupted patient care throughout the project.
