The Early Childhood Education Center provides care services for children under four years of age for San Antonio College students and faculty while they attend classes. Each classroom tailors to children’s needs, so they can eat, play, nap, and learn without leaving the room. Located inside the Early Childhood Education Center, the new John L. Santikos Micronaut Center offers hands-on, innovative experiences to spark the imagination of young children with STEAM-focused activities (science, technology, engineering, art, and math). The center caters to school groups and currently hosts preschool and kindergarten classes.
The Early Childcare Education Center was located between two active buildings. To avoid interfering with classes and daily operations, the Owner asked us to work after-hours and on weekends. As a result of our proactive planning efforts, we completed the project on time and on budget, with little disturbance to students and faculty.
