Vaughn Recognized at Associated General Contractors’ Outstanding Construction Awards

Associated General Contractors-Texas Building Branch recently recognized Vaughn at the Outstanding Construction Awards for the Fertitta Family College of Medicine, Peter O’Donnell Jr. Biomedical Research Building and Cancer Outpatient Building, and Texas Department of Transportation Stassney Campus Warehouse projects.

The Fertitta Family College of Medicine, a 130,000 SF building at University of Houston, includes a state-of-the-art anatomy suite, a clinical skills lab, patient examination rooms, a simulation center, classrooms, social and study spaces, and offices.

The Peter O’Donnell Jr. Biomedical Research Building is a neuroscience facility containing seven floors of research and laboratory space and shell space for future vivarium. The Cancer Care Outpatient Building, the newest location for patients of the Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center, triples the medical campus’ care capabilities and contains spaces for multidisciplinary care, genetic counseling, clinical trials, supportive care, and private treatment.

The 145,000 SF Texas Department of Transportation’s Stassney Campus Warehouse in Austin is home to a print shop for TxDOT’s road signs. The signs are used by traffic authorities, agencies, jurisdictions and persons involved with the fabrication, installation, and maintenance of traffic signs on streets and highways.

“We are honored to be recipients of three Outstanding Construction Awards,” said a Vaughn project manager. “Thank you, AGC, for the recognition of the hard work our team put in to WOW our clients and deliver exceptional projects.”
