We constructed 12,000 SF of new vivarium and animal imaging space on Level One, 10,000 SF of laboratory space on Level Two, approximately 30,000 SF each of fixed laboratory space on Levels Three, Four, and Five, and added MEP infrastructure at the penthouse level. The facility includes synthetic and chemistry labs, biochemistry labs, molecular and cellular biology labs, and facilities for production of clinical-grade imaging agents such as radiopharmaceuticals, nanoparticle-based agents, gene-reporter, and cellular tracers.
Our initial schedule included a single turnover of all lab space. Midway through construction, the Owner requested we turn over 50 percent of the lab space early to accommodate new researchers who needed space quickly. During scheduling meetings with the trade contractors, we developed a plan to turn the spaces over in five separate phases, each spaced one month apart. We assigned new substantial completion dates for each floor and turned them each over separately.
