Project Overview

This new central utility plant was constructed to serve UHDs new Science and Technology Building, along with future buildings on its north campus. The facility includes two 600-ton chillers, two 1,800-GPM cooling towers, two 1,200-GPM chilled water pumps, two 1,800-GPM condenser water pumps, approximately 1,200 LF of underground HDPE pipe, a 1,000 KW standby diesel generator, a 2,500-KVA pad mounted transformer, and an emergency generator.

Unique Challenge

The Owner wanted to relocate the central plant to the north of the existing project site, but was concerned that a delay would cause the project to lose momentum, and would not be able to take advantage of favorable market conditions. Our team presented the Owner with options for maintaining the current schedule and taking advantage of favorable market pricing.
