Vaughn Renovation for Baylor University Wins TEXO Award

The Baylor University, Louise Herrington School of Nursing Academic Building project won first place in the General Contractor – Education Facilities 2 ($10-30 M) Category. The judges evaluated the project’s construction difficulty, unusual construction techniques, final appearance and quality, and the timeliness of completion. As construction manager-at-risk on the project, Vaughn converted a 112,000 SF office building into a new, modern home for the expanding nursing program at Baylor University. The facility is comprised of a variety of offices, testing spaces, common study rooms, multipurpose rooms, student lounges, conference rooms, and several teaching spaces and classrooms, including four 120-seat capacity classrooms, two 60-seat capacity classrooms, and a 250-seat auditorium. In addition to the extensive finish upgrades, we also refurbished the elevators and upgraded the MEP systems, including four new air handling units and an emergency generator. The facility was designed by Beck Architecture. Learn more about this project.
