Texas A&M University Unveils Zachry Engineering Education Complex

Texas A&M University (TAMU) recently celebrated the grand opening of the new Zachry Engineering Education Complex, the largest academic building on the TAMU campus. Vaughn served as the construction manager-at-risk for the $172 million renovation and addition to the existing engineering building. Some of the new building’s unique features include the Fischer Design Center, rooftop garden, and active-learning style classrooms. The classrooms emphasize technology and are equipped with chairs and tables on wheels instead of traditional lecture-style desks to encourage flexibility and collaboration. During the grand opening ceremony, TAMU president Michael Young elaborated on this building’s significance, "The legacy of this building, the legacy of what you contributed will last for literally hundreds of years… The building will change how we're able to teach and, in turn, the students who study in this building, who have the opportunity to be in this building, will change the world.” To hear the entire dedication ceremony, click here.
