Two Vaughn projects won the Associated General Contractors-Austin Chapter’s Outstanding Construction Awards which recognize the top projects completed in 2020 in the Austin/Central Texas region. The projects are judged on difficulty in construction, unusual construction techniques, final appearance and quality, and timeliness of completion.
The Travis County, Probate Courts Building Renovation project won in the Interior Finish-Out Over $5 Million category. This project involved the historic renovation of a former federal courthouse built in 1936 into the new home of the Travis County Probate Courts. Vaughn replaced all the MEP systems, restored historic finishes and fixtures, replaced the windows and roof, repaired the limestone building façade, and upgraded interior spaces.
The Texas State University, LBJ Student Center Expansion won in the Education $10-$30 Million category. This project included a redesigned welcome and alumni center, larger capacity conference and meeting rooms, restrooms, a new ballroom, and a multi-cultural center.
