This athletic center upgrade took place over the summer so the players could use it in the upcoming fall semester. The new locker room features upgraded lighting and sound, metal ceilings and wall panels, and 120 stainless steel lockers with internally-lit doors, cooling racks for helmets, and ventilation systems. Each locker is topped with 43-inch televisions boasting player highlights. The corridors feature high-end finishes and a 12-screen video wall to hype players prior to game time.
We had four months to complete this project, while working around continuous recruiting events, which was later shortened to three months so the players could begin training early. With the time constraints, we had zero margin for error with the custom finishes. Most of the materials for the major finishes arrived late giving us only three weeks for installation. Our use of BIM and intense coordination with all parties resulted in our on-time completion with a savings of $400,000.
