The Texas A&M University at Galveston (TAMUG) Infrastructure, Dock Improvements and Ship FF&E Phase 1 project recently reached the topping out milestone for the new central plant project. The 18,000 SF building, for which Vaughn serves as construction manager-at-risk, will support TAMUG’s mission of providing specialized education in marine and maritime studies, research, and public service related to marine resources.
To mark the topping out achievement, the project team enjoyed a celebratory barbeque lunch featuring delicious brisket, sausage, potato salad, and coleslaw.
“This project strengthens our ongoing relationship with Texas A&M and the Galveston campus, which began in the early 2000s,” said a Vaughn project manager. “The new central plant project will position the campus for significant growth over the next 20-30 years, and we look forward to being a part of that growth for years to come.”
We are also facilitating the permitting process for a new dock to accommodate TAMUG’s future cadet training vessel, which aligns with Phase 2 construction.
The project is slated to reach substantial completion in April 2025.
