Texas State Technical College (TSTC) recently celebrated the groundbreaking of the new Transportation Center of Excellence building at the Fort Bend campus, for which Vaughn serves as construction manager-at-risk. The 105,000 SF building expands the college’s Diesel Equipment Technology program and supports new education programs for automotive technology, collision repair, and instrumentation.
The ceremony opened with a speech from campus provost Bryan Bowling. “We gather together and celebrate the future – the future of our students, our school, and the Texas workforce,” Bowling said. “Thank you for joining us as we take the next step in ensuring that TSTC students in Fort Bend County are learning and training in high-quality facilities with state-of-the-art equipment.”
TSTC Chancellor and CEO Mike Reeser said, “This new building adds to the supply of talented students who will go on and find prosperous jobs. We are different from the other community colleges. We focus on careers that are highly needed and waste no time in getting our students jobs.”
TSTC expects Fort Bend to be one of the fastest-growing campuses with state-of-the-art training labs and equipment to provide the resources students need to progress in their academic careers.
The Transportation Center of Excellence is scheduled to open in time for the fall 2025 semester.
