The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) recently celebrated the topping-out milestone of the UT Health RGV Cancer and Surgery Center. The 144,000 SF building, for which Vaughn serves as construction manager-at-risk, will bring cancer treatment to an underserved area of Texas. The facility, which will feature state-of-the-art imaging equipment, represents one of the largest UTRGV projects to date.
UTRGV and Vaughn team members highlighted the team’s accomplishments and thanked everyone who contributed to the project’s topping-out milestone. “The [topping-out milestone] is not just about signing a beam and delivering speeches,” said a Vaughn project manager. “The team’s unyielding dedication and hard work have propelled this project forward day by day. Their commitment and the heart they put into their work shines through in the progress we see. Thank you.”
The project is slated to reach substantial completion in December 2024, with service to patients in early 2025. We look forward to sharing more information as the project progresses.
