Houston Methodist West Hospital broke ground on the new Medical Office Building 3 and Garage B Expansion project. Houston Methodist leaders and members of the community came together to celebrate the start of this project, which will include a new medical office building and significant parking garage expansions.
These expansions are merely the latest steps in Houston Methodist West Hospital’s long-term plan to grow the range of complex services they provide to the Katy and West Houston community, one of the fastest-growing areas of Houston. The new 161,000 SF, six-story medical office building will enable Houston Methodist West Hospital to leverage a wide variety of innovative technology and care practices. The first floor of the building will include spaces where patients can receive physical therapy services, and the top two floors of the building will be geared towards orthopedics and sports medicine. A sports field next to the building will add additional treatment options for patients receiving physical therapy services.
With increased services comes a need for increased capacity, and this project is no exception. To accommodate the projected growth of their patient base, Houston Methodist West Hospital is significantly expanding their existing parking garage to include 900 additional spaces. Another way Houston Methodist West Hospital is keeping the needs of their patients and the surrounding community in mind is by incorporating some natural beauty into their design. Nature spaces and walking trails where patients and visitors can take a moment to relax will border the new building.
The Medical Office Building 3 and Garage B Expansion project is scheduled to open by the end of 2023 and will be a critical piece of Houston Methodist West Hospital’s efforts to anticipate the healthcare needs of a growing community. Vaughn is excited to be Houston Methodist West Hospital’s partner in pursuing this goal, and we look forward to more information as the project progresses.
