Vaughn recently topped out the structural steel frame for the University of Texas at Rio Grande Valley’s (UTRGV) 35,000 SF School of Medicine Institute of Neurosciences. The $20 million, two-story medical facility includes dry research labs, clinical space, clinical research space, core imaging, a therapy center, and collaborative and community-focused spaces. It also includes a diagnostic center with state-of-the art medical imaging equipment for the treatment of numerous neuropsychiatric and aging disorders in the historically underserved Rio Grande Valley population. The new facility will support the medical school’s mission to provide a forward-thinking medical education experience and serve as a collaborative incubator for medical professionals studying neurosciences, neuropsychiatric, and aging disorders. The project is anticipated to reach substantial completion in September 2021. Munoz & Company is the architect.
