New Year, New Location

After more than 12 years in College Station, the Vaughn Central Texas office has made the move back to Bryan. The new office resides in the 100-year-old Bowie School Building located at 401 W. 26th Street, which had not been occupied in over 20 years and was recently slated for demolition.

The building's new owners hired Vaughn to renovate the old school into a new office building. During interior demolition to take the building back down to its original structure, including the exterior masonry walls, the project team uncovered quite a few surprises, including some critical structural and waterproofing issues. The project team of Gessner Engineering, Cleary Zimmermann, and Vaughn’s in-house architect, Radovan Alaupovic, was able to resolve the issues and keep the project moving forward.

The Bryan location is 25 percent larger than the College Station location. This extra space will support Vaughn’s growing local team of special projects and estimating personnel. Within the new building layout, some common areas are shared with other future building tenants including a large conference room, a break room, and a fitness area. The first floor also includes a space for a barber shop that will be open to the public through a dedicated entrance.
