Vaughn was recently awarded the University of Texas Health Science Center’s (UTHSC-SA) new $196.7 million Inpatient Facility. The new Inpatient Facility is located on 12 acres of prime real estate adjacent to UTHSC-SA’s Mays Cancer Center and the Center for Oral Health Care and Research on Floyd Curl Drive, one of the busiest streets in the South Texas Medical Center. The new 335,000 SF, 132-bed facility will offer cancer care and other specialties while providing support for expanded and enhanced access to translational research and clinical trials to a broader population of patients. This project also includes a medical office building, parking garage, and remodel of existing clinic space. The new hospital will tie directly into the Mays Cancer Center by skybridge.
