Two Vaughn projects won Best in Precast Awards from the Precast Concrete Manufacturer's Association. The Best in Precast Awards recognize projects across Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico for the structural versatility and architectural possibility they achieved using precast concrete.
The Texas A&M University Health Science Center, College of Dentistry Clinic and Education Building won the Best University Building award. The new, 294,000 SF nine-story building for the dental school is clad with 270 pieces of architectural precast, limestone, metal panels, and glass. The project also includes a central utility plant and 250-space parking garage.
The University of Houston, Gateway Parking Garage won the Best Medium Parking Structure award. The six-level, 2,500-space parking garage utilizes nearly 1,700 pieces of pre-cast/pre-stressed concrete, most of which were used for the 633,000 SF suspended parking deck.
